Patty Wagstaff

Favorite shot:  Patty taxis her Extra 300S out of
the ramp onto taxiway Alpha in preparation for
her performance on Sunday.  The full parking
lot is visible in the background.  Patty flew a
full aerobatic performance with enough
rolls, tumbles, knife-edge, and smoke effects
for any aviation enthusiast.

Red Barons

Favorite shot:  The four-aircraft frozen-pizza-
sponsored team fly a low-pass in preparation
for a formation loop.  The group choreography
was fantastic - from the formation hammerheads
to the many heart-in-the-skies drawn with smoke.
The group performed twice on Sunday, both times
a similar routine.

Blue Angels

Favorite Shot:  The Blues approach show-center
from the west in a formation pass.  As always,
they had a phenomenal display of piloting and
coordination.  The Blues photo gallery has
more pictures than any other, owing to their
long performance and plenty of close-up
photo opportunities.

Heritage Flight

Favorite shot: An Air-Force F-15 Eagle flies
in formation with an F-86 Sabre for a 'Heritage
Flight' photo pass.  The F-15 pilot put on an excellent solo display for several minutes before joining the F-86.

Super Decathlon

Favorite shot:  John Black on taxiway Alpha
before his performance.  John flew beautiful,
slow, energy-conservation maneuvers.  His
finesse on the stick and excellent execution
were undermined only by the lack of smoke.
The lack of smoke makes the pictures look
somewhat non-discernable, since there's no
relevant velocity information.

Otto the Clown Helicopter

Favorite shot:  Otto pitches forward to
during his somewhat-goofy flight routine.
The pilot was quite skilled in decoupling
attitude and velocity, especially while
flying backwards.  The clown face and
yo-yo stunt were interesting additions
to an already unusual presentation.

B-25 Disabled American Veterans

Favorite shot: A B-25 Mitchell makes a
low-pass with the bomb-bay doors open.
I was secretly hoping that a fury of
watermelons might be unleashed, but I
was clearly denied.

Propeller-Heads

Favorite shot:  Three aerospace nerds watch
with mild amusement at the structural
loads testing underway during the airshow
performances.  The gallery is all the
people-pictures taken during the event.

Static Aircraft

Favorite shot:  An Air Force KC-135 refueling tanker provides simultaneous amusement and shelter to weary airshow-goers.  This aircraft was one of many armed services aircraft parked on the ramp.  Some of the other notable aircraft included an F-5 Tigershark, a militarized Piper Super Cub, a FEDEX Cessna Grand Caravan, the Shands TraumaHawk, and a pair of Navy T-34s.
